Dr. Erin Hopkins, Clinical Psychologist providing Therapy for High Achievers in Farmington, CT

Dr. Erin Hopkins, Clinical Psychologist

Feel worthy just as you are.

Is your relentless pace costing you your peace, authentic connection, and sense of true purpose?

You’re in the right place.

I’m Erin, and I help high achievers challenge the belief that they’re not good enough. I can help you build a sense of self-worth that isn’t conditional on how much you accomplish or how perfect you appear to others. You can find a space to exhale fully and connect to who you are behind all of the accolades. We’ll work together to help you develop relationships where you can show up as your whole, vibrant self and feel loved.

I can help you develop greater insight into your patterns and the stories you tell yourself alongside creating the change you want to see in your life. We’ll find a balance between reflection and action.

I get it. I’ve also chased the next credential, title, and qualification. The pace was exhausting, and I felt unfulfilled. It’s an ongoing practice to root down and find stillness, and it’s so worth it. The joy I find from connecting to my true nature and being able to hold space for others to do the same is beyond words. I want that ease and purpose for you too.

When you work with me, you get a whole-hearted human and not a blank slate. I have a loud, cackling laugh and very expressive face. Yes, we’ll laugh together in therapy! I believe in telling clients what I’m thinking, but you’d know regardless because my face says it all. Most importantly, I’ll show up with all the warmth and love, because I’ve been there too. I’ve got you.

My Background & Training

Education & Licensure

  • B.A. from Smith College (Major in Psychology, Minor in Gender Studies)

  • M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England

  • Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England

  • Clinical Psychologist Licensure in Connecticut and New York

  • PsyPact Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology

My training spans the full range of human experience across the lifespan. I've worked with adults navigating life transitions and trauma in hospital outpatient settings and group private practice, teens in both clinical day schools and college preparatory boarding schools, children in outpatient clinics and public schools, and pregnant mothers and preschoolers in an early childhood mental health program. I also served as a clinical administrator at a clinical day school, where I supervised and led the high school therapy team and provided training on trauma-informed care to school staff. That breadth informs how I understand people. I don't see my clients in isolation but as whole human beings shaped by their histories, relationships, and the world they move through.

Our social context affects our mental health. Experiences of marginalization and discrimination can lead to feeling isolated. That feeling often fuels the relentless drive to strive and prove your worth. I'm a culturally affirming therapist who works to ensure every client feels genuinely seen and valued for who they are, not just the presenting problem that brought them to my door.

I remain actively connected to the training and supervisory side of the field. I supervise practicum students and doctoral interns, serve on dissertation committees, and hold a faculty position in psychology at a hospital.

My 200-hour yoga teacher training, including yin certification, informs a mind-body approach to the work that goes beyond talk therapy alone.
